With over 2000 years of history, Braga is the oldest city in Portugal and one of the world's oldest catholic cities. It is also the third-largest city of Portugal and has a young, vibrant population. Along with numerous churches, there are characterful shopping streets, elegant Baroque mansions, and grand plazas. Braga is also the setting for the most impressive monument in Northern Portugal, the Bom Jesus do Monte. Entry to this beautiful place is free, note there is a fee to take the train up though.
The Bom Jesus do Monte, has the most breathtaking views in all of Braga. The stairs to the top is about 381ft but for those not willing to do the walk all the way up they do have a Funicular (the oldest in the world) that can take you to the top and give you a scenic view on the way up.
Guimarães is known as the birth place of Portugal. There are medieval castles to see dating form the 10th century to streets of shopping explore. This is a city in the Braga District that is a must see. Visiting and exploring the castle and the museums are free to the public.

This beautiful garden is in walking distance of the city center near the host hotel. It is the perfect site to take pictures and have lunch in one of the surrounding areas.

Porto is the second largest city in Portugal after Lisbon. It is the capital of the Porto District and one of the Iberian Peninsula's major urban areas. This great city is located just 30 mins away from Braga, and is where we will spend our day day trip on Tuesday. If you want to explore on your own, here are some must see sites.
This is a must see beautiful spot as a tourist you don't wan to miss. It's filled with restaurants, shopping, and the beautiful boats going up and down the Duoro Valley River.
